Works Well, It's Outstanding - Motorcycle Cell Phone Mount Critique

By Brandon Anderson

The suction cup design is the best I've used. There is a wide variety of adjustments and configurations for how you can use this mount. But of course that hasn't happened yet. Got this as a Christmas gift and am very happy. I guess for $15, I'm getting what I paid for. I'll keep looking for a better option. I use the vent attachment with no problems. I highly recommend for anyone with a touchscreen smartphone.

This is one of those products. It is well thought out and well executed.

You just have to make sure when you mount it that it's the way you want it because sometimes the weight of the device can make it tip forward but still stays on the mount. The suction clip is apparently designed to be used with the plate. The distance between the cup and the back of the cradle is so short (and limited as well in angle) that mounting on a wind shield basically doesn't work. I use this mount daily for my HTC Evo 4G, a very heavy phone, and it works perfectly. I bought the Exomount at the same time, and this beats it on just about every level. Holds my Samsung Captivate phone secure and stays on the dash or vent. I was able to rotate the mount in all kind of ways, until I secured it the way I want.

I first tried the vent mount. It seems easy to install it on the vent. It also holds my HTC Droid Incredible and my wife's Droid 2 perfectly.

It can be swiveled to portrait or landscape orientation very easily. The windshield mount holds steady and firm on the window.

Also, it would have been nice if it rested more sturdily on the vent. I guess it cannot be too tight because it is removable. It's a great price, fully adjustable, and worry free. Get it and enjoy.

However, I purchased it on March 17th and it's already fallen apart - the plastic has completely disintegrated on the windshield mount where the angle adjustment knob attaches and the phone no longer stays in place. The air vent component still works, but it doesn't sit very well in my car and blocks the air vent completely (I'm using it with an iPhone) I can return it to the company for a replacement for $9 plus shipping - I only paid $15 for it at Amazon so that seems crazy.
