I will try it out at the outdoor concerts this summer. This is product is very useful to me because in my city Fortaleza is very hot the most part of year. The product is quiet and about the temperature is true you can fell it the cold wind. If I were you, try it first before forking out your hard-earned dollars. I would have returned this product had I bought it in a local store.
And the company has the gall to claim you're getting a $50 savings?! It's just another symptom of a society trying to get the most for the least. I bought two and used them both on the trip therefore not allowing me to get any of my money back and it leaves me with two useless items. Good luck to those of you looking for a way to keep your car cool and should you find one, LET ME KNOW PLEASE, Purchased 3 of these for a trip. She had to be careful not to get it too close to her face because of the little plastic blades. This device can sit there, right by you, or you can hold it.
I highly recommend this fan, and I am thinking of buying another one so that they don't have to fight over it all the time. The handy cooler does a great job; you would never guess how powerful it is.
I can see some people criticizing this product for being too expensive, but I think that this is something for you if you do not mind spending a premium for something that looks good and works well, and built of better quality. It helped me a lot through those hot days at the office this summer. So we decided to run only one at a time and swap out batteries for a total of 10 hours run time on high. The sponge is a hassle to remove out of the mesh bag and wet it and then put back while constantly moving with our pack. It came in 48hours with expedited shipping and it came in good shape. It required 4 AA batteries, and it's not included so be sure to get some if you want to use this fan straight away. Basically DO NOT buy this if you live in a place where there is like 80%+ humidity. The other reviewers are right, this actually works.
I retracted my review on the first fan. I got the replacement fan.
However, this is the first I've seen at its size. A couple of important issues for anyone wanting an evaporative cooler: you MUST live in a place with a humidity level lower than 60% (it works better in lower humidity levels and at 20% humidity it is awesome). The filter dries out in 1-2 hours depending on the conditions you use it in. I bought 4 rechargeable batteries for this device and it has worked well for me. Also, I wish it had a stand so you could easily prop it somewhere if you didn't want to hold it...like on the treadmill cup holder, your desk, etc. The fan stopped working after an hour and never worked right again. I am angry that I paid $100 and they do not work any better than an item I could have purchased at the dollar store, but had they worked the money would not have been an issue. I will warn those of you purchasing this product to strongly reconsider, but if you choose to go ahead and purchase, only purchase ONE at a time.

That's how LOUD this beep is, and there is NO way to disable it. We have not needed to drain it yet, it only has been a couple of days, however it does get pretty humid here in NE. westinghouse air conditioners. Super easy setup. Peaceful, even better compared to Honeywell, with more airflow. CAMPING AIR CONDITIONER.
