We all have to educate ourselves. The USB adapter is something I use much more than I thought I would.
Only thing is that the battery life isn't amazing, but that might be because I constantly have it on next to me on hot days. I got the knockoff version from eBay and this one is much better. When it's melted we just drink it and replace it with a new frozen one from the ice cooler. This set up worked really great for out two week trip in Disney World and South Florida. Oh well, live and learn. This is a great little device.
She works in a small, compact office in a cubicle and it was perfect for her because she was complaining about the heat and the stuffy air. I also tried it at home when on the computer and yes the air is really cooler.
This fan is handy for several things although I'll be totally honest, I bought it for an odd reason. I'll get to that in a minute, however. Speaking of distraction, this thing is LOUD. Using it in a quiet office makes a lot of noise. The downside is that the water had to be replaced every hour cause of the heat. Other than that, it served its purpose beautifully! It cools the air probably 10-15 degrees. I wish it could cool better, but a swamp cooler is simply limited to the humidity of the day, just like any other swamp cooler. If you get the product wet it stops working. One of them did not get wet and it stopped working for an hour just because.
If this product has cost $20 buck we probably would have kept it but it was definitely not worth $50. My husband's been complaining about the heat for a while and I bought this to hopefully cool him down. I wish I could have given it zero stars, but the review system would not let you. As a beauty therapist, I know how important it is to look after your skin and how much damage a fan or an a/c can do. Basically DO NOT buy this if you live in a place where there is like 80%+ humidity. The other reviewers are right, this actually works.
Mine did not work long enough for that to happen. It is probably the type of switch; rotary, with no preset speeds.

I'm extremely disappointed in this item. I am currently spoiled. mini split ac. I got myself two, one for my upstairs bed room and something for the downstairs family room. I did discover that on a single semi-humid day the indoor humidity rose to almost 40% (by having an indoor temp ~ 79) and air felt much less comfy. QUIET WINDOW AIR CONDITIONER.
