Patek watches rank among some of the most celebrated and stylish on the market. Beginning back in 1839 when Antoni Patek and Franciszek Czepak joined forces to begin manufacturing watches in Geneva. Patek was a renowned businessman and Czepak a watch maker. This continued till 1844 when Patek met up with another famous watch maker Adrien Philippe.
They met in Paris where Philippe was pathfinding his stem winding and setting system by the crown. In 1845 Czepak made a decision to go a different direction and left the company. They renamed the company to reflect on the new possession and continued production till 1932 where it was acquired by the bros Charles and Jean Cruel who were a fine dial manufacturer in Geneva.
The Patek Philippe brand is still in force today still owned by the Cruel Family. Some of the qualities that set Patek watches above the rest, rest in the top of the range materials used. Many models are made from gold, white platinum and gold. Each piece is hand made and there's a massive amount of time expended in making sure the finish work is perfect. Another method the Patek watches use to help maintain value are there are a limited quantity of Patek Watches made.
Patek watches pack a lot of inventive elements that are not found in other watches. Some Patek Watches are hand made with full yearly calendars. Not that I want to know anything about the moon phases, some of the models I've seen maintain a tally of them. One of my own personal favourite features are the glass backing. This permits you to see the inside workings. A craft that's frequently lost with the solid backings typically found in watches today.
Patek watches are definitely the style of watch that command class and appeal. There is a great history and inheritance behind each one.
