Ozeri Ultra 42" Adjustable Oscillating Tower Fan - Compact Air Conditioner Review

By Samuel Nelson

This means that, after 30 minutes or so, the top part of the sponge will dry out, and any other water will drop to the bottom part of the sponge (and the intake won't draw air through it). This means that suddenly, it only becomes a fan that moves air.

It's about the size of a small book. We put it in the baby's stroller or in her bike trailer.

That said if you are trying to set it somewhere and cool a small area like a dog house or chicken coop it didn't work quite as well. First because it doesn't cool as well without the water and my chickens can't refill it LOL...I tried this in the coop because it's reached 110 degrees here recently in TX and we've had 26 days in a row over 100 degrees. I have been using it for just over 2 months and it's been working well. It's not your conventional fan which you can buy everywhere, but one that uses moisture to cool the air.

It keeps me cool and it saves energy. As I just use the USB cable to plug into my computer, I save on batteries and also don't need to cool the whole room down. I tested indoors and it worked okay (not great). Outdoors, it does not do squat! I bought this mini air conditioner for my office. The most important point was that it ran on USB so I could plug it on my computer and set it aside without worrying about batteries. I also like the little water bottle they give you, which holds two "recharges". Yes, they have figured out how much water you can add to keep cool without water dribbling from the unit. Thank you, Handy Cooler. For what it is, it is a very good little fan. Slower delivery than I expected. In warm conditions, this works fine.

I also bought the flexible air tube for him to cool inside his heat-proof jacket. He loved the combination and does everything it claimed to do. The battery lasted a good 2 days before I have to replace them. You need to take the filter out and refill out but I find it easier to pour water directly onto the filter even with the lid on (the lid has a lot of holes to breathe).

Stumbled across this on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It is terrific!

I live in the Caribbean and bought this unit in case of emergencies (post hurricane with power outages) to cool down. It gets really hot here.
