It's portable and you bring it everywhere. It's great if you are always on the move, or if you decide to leave it stationary.
After all, there is no point of lathering gallons of hydrating lotion but sleep under a draft. The filters stay wet for only a few hours so make sure that you check often the wetness otherwise it is not going to work as well.
The batteries last for a whole day if I conserve the batteries well enough by only running it when I need it. The cooling ability is good considering it's an evaporative cooler that is made so small. I do outdoor camping a lot and it gets too hot in the summer at times. This has helped keep my tent cool but I would prefer it to ventilate fresh air from outside, and this doesn't do this very well.
I read the reviews, good and bad, and thought the good outweighed the bad reviews. Luckily I was right. There is a small water bottle that comes with it but this overfills the sponge so I guess I'll have to find a syringe with mm on it which seems odd. This is what cools the breeze, much like a combo of a mister and a fan. Is it meant to be a wrist strap? Because I would never attach it to my hand and walk around with it because is a bit large to do that. I ordered this because there is only so much night-sweat and dude-funk one can take in this sort of environment. It just came in the other day, but it appears sufficient to cool a cramped, curtained, coffin-like enclosure! I love the size as it's easy to carry around and it's not heavy so they are fine with holding it. Although there is a knob with adjustable speeds, it's always on high. You can put the unit on a desk or tabletop, and it will blow a nice stream of cool air at you. I like the way you can rotate the air head ninety degrees, giving you greater flexibility in positioning the unit.
I would recommend this product to anyone. I think it is fairly priced for a personal fan that provides more than a breeze but an actual Cooling effect. I live in California and although the weather is normally nice all year around, it can still get brutally hot at times. If there was a REAL portable air-conditioner I would definitely buy that, but having searched endlessly to try and find something like that with no success (message me if you know of any) I found this unit.
Don't be deterred that when you first get the product, you have to take a part the packaging and fill up the sponge with water and everything, because if you follow the instructions and do so, you will find yourself with a fan that not only cools you off but hydrates your skin quite well. I work in an office that is run down and built a few decades ago and therefore does not have good thermal cover at all.
