Difficult To Clean But Purchased A Second 1 Anyway - Amana Air Conditioner Review

By Ashley Taylor

It worked great with my son; it kept him cool the entire time. We live in Corpus Christi which can also get really hot and humid and it worked great when we would go for a walk at the park or around the neighborhood. So I'd have to put this thing really close to my face to feel the air. I wished fan speed was more powerful. I was going to the standard tower fans but I was intrigued by this new technology. What it really is, is old technology, but still works superb.

I had it in my Camper along with a small personal fan and seemed to knock temps down about 3degrees which in my way of thinking was just fine. So with that being said I am thinking of purchasing another so I can have one cooler in the front of the camper and one in the back which should be fine. I saw some bad reviews about this so I was skeptical about investing $40 into something that probably might not work. Amazon provides a 30 day guarantee, so I thought to give it a try nevertheless. I bought two of these because we were attending our Grandson's baseball practice and games. Here in Texas the heat is unbearable. This fan produces a surprisingly great amount of breeze, especially after a long game of football. It has an adjusting fan speed setting (high for when I just finish playing sport, mid-range for normal cooling off) and works almost as well as an AC because the force of the breeze is quite strong.

I say that as it brings the temperature down so cool air really is blown out of it at you. It's totally different from the conventional fans which just circulate the air around and aren't very useful if its already blaring hot.

This product was ok. I bought it for my boyfriend because it is so hot in his office.

I normally can use it for about an hour before I need to "re-juice" the filter and if I forget; it will still work but just won't have the cooling effect. This is a well-constructed cooling fan and its definitely one of the better desk fans Ive owned.

It cools the air by around 15 degrees and that's pretty good for a $40 product. The only issue I have with this unit is that the water drips if you are not following the instructions properly, that is to fill up the bottle and pour from there, and I personally find it too inconvenient. I love the size as its easy to carry around and its not heavy so they are fine with holding it. Although there is a knob with adjustable speeds, its always on high. I was unsure of how it worked before I bought this, until I played around with it, I realize it's basically a turbine fan that filters air through a wet filter and for some reason the air comes out is cold. It doesn't cool more than 30 degrees but that is enough for me. I've had this for just over a week and being using it daily at work and at home. It works great, fairly quiet and I got no complaints so far. It cools the air probably 10-15 degrees. I wish it could cool better, but a swamp cooler is simply limited to the humidity of the day, just like any other swamp cooler.
