Good Quality - Antivirus Scan Software Review

By Ella Hughes

Also, I don't really think their virus protection is very effective and they definitely bog down the performance of the system more than some effective competitors. If there were a class action suit against these guys, I'd join it.

It is very easy to install and it does not bug you with a lot of questions you don't know the answer to. It keeps itself up to date and you are not aware of scans (with some programs the whole system slows to a crawl during scans). I feel that I was ripped off by them. I have used this product since 2009. The Network section covers the firewall, network and email intrusion. The Web section covers safe web browsing, including Identity Safe, which allows you to store passwords/logins for websites.

In addition, the tech gave me a 30-day extension on my current license year 'just because'. With 2009, I returned because the product improved and they actually added usable tech support. Independent tests show it in the top group for its features.

It has saved me from downloading software I thought was save because I knew so many people that used it, for example: certain person-to-person music downloading software. I would recommend this to anyone that spends a lot of time on the internet. I shared it with a friend, and we both love how it seems to run smoothly and catches everything.

I had some problems installing and it took me more than one try! Since I already had Norton I had to use the Norton removal tool.

The problems as I see them are probably pretty minor for most people. The things that I don't like are the speed (it is slower on my machine then the previous edition, meaning it is so bloated it bogs things down), and unlike previous editions, this one says it is incompatible with Webroot Spy Sweeper. Also, turns into complete "bloatware" after a short time. Norton installs fast and is easy to use.

I renew Norton Internet Security every year and it's much cheaper to buy the CD on sale than to renew on-line from Symantec, plus you have the CD in the event you need it. It's incredible how easy this thing is. It's always there, just like a guardian angel.

The delivery from Amazon was very fast. I have used Norton for years but found this CD difficult to install. When you reach the required reboot, do so, and after the reboot you will have the option to now enter your new product ID number (found on your new disk), which will activate your version of Norton while retaining any remaining days you have existing left on your current subscription. You paid for 365 days, so make sure you get every minute you paid for!
